Small Bowl Adze (Flat Center)
The small bowl adze is forged from solid 4150 alloy steel. It has a hand crafted hickory handle, stained and finished with a penetrating oil/varnish mix. Occasionally these will sport some curly grain. (Sorry, no choice on handle grain pattern.) Handles are 8-1/2" to 9-1/2" long. The blade has an essentially flat section in the center and turned up lips on the corners. This gives a smoother finish than my standard small bowl adze, and is an excellent choice for carving chair seats. Blades are approximately 1 3/4" - 2" across. Overall weight varies between 24 - 27 oz.
